Your submission (approximately 2500 words) will include your answers to the following questions (Part A and Part B).
 Part A: Wind Farm Design
a) Using appropriate references to official repositories, journal/conference publications or international reports, please provide a short report mentioning the following regarding global wind power installations:
1. overview of the dates when installations were commissioned
2. size (in hub heights) and power generation capacity of the installations in the different regions
3. companies that were mainly responsible for the installations
b) Collecting either existing data from already installed Wind Power Plants or creating a wind power plant by using one of the relevant sources, please address the following:
1. Including maps justifying your answer, please evaluate qualitatively the terrain surrounding the location of your wind power plant. Based on theory, how would the surrounding terrain influence the efficiency of your wind farm?
2. Based on the data you selected or collected, what type of wind turbines would you select for this particular project? How many machines would you install? What would be the previsioned annual power production of your wind farm?
Using the proposed literature, as well as additional sources you may find online or in hardcopy, you are requested to write a report addressing the important concept of location selection and wind farm design as long as answering to the questions provided above. You should include a minimum of three (3) References, in Harvard Referencing style.
 Part B: Wind Farm Efficiency Assessment
Based on the selection of the wind farm in part A, please address the following:
1. Briefly describe the basic concepts that are used for the calculation of the efficiency, economic assessment, and environmental assessment of wind power plants.
2. Which is the previsioned annual power production of your wind farm and which would be the estimate of the initial installation costs? Which would be the maintenance cost of such a project? Taking into account a fixed price for wind power plants (search on the web for a realistic prediction), estimate the payback period for your project.
3. Running a Life Cycle Analysis of your project, please calculate the energy payback period of the project taking into account two different scenarios for the end of your project: ending in a landfill and recycling. Which would be the total CO2 emissions of the project?
Using the proposed literature, as well as additional sources you may find online or in hardcopy, you are requested to include in your report the answers to the questions set above. You should include a minimum of three (3) References, in Harvard Referencing style.
