The simulation required coordination with a team to run a business and make decisions. Communication skills, problem-solving skills, time management, decision-making skills, and leadership skills, Improve communication, foster a culture of accountability, encourage creativity, and finally, foster collaboration were the most important course subjects and talents for me during the simulation.
Communication skills: Effective communication is necessary for collaboration. It was crucial during the simulation because we had to engage and make decisions together. When we have efficient communication, you know that the message is given to the team member clearly and without misinterpretation or alterations, which reduces the possibility of misunderstanding and conflict(Stevenson University, n.d.). It helped us build trust, which led to more efficient work, good communication, and involvement.
Problem-solving skills: During the simulation, we encountered a variety of problems and had to apply our problem-solving abilities to discover solutions. The ability to produce additional solutions is critical because it leads to higher and more productive outputs than any single person can likely generate.
Time management: If we complete everything at the last minute, the simulation would be quite time-consuming, thus time management is critical. Time management allows us to work faster and more efficiently; however, it can also help you work smarter. We can avoid distractions by using tools and tactics to manage our workload(Team Slack , n.d.). By adopting time management, we chose to divide the job among each team member into manageable parts. In addition, we must arrange a period when everyone is available to work on the project as needed.
Decision-making skills: Throughout the simulation, we had to make a variety of selections. Making decisions allows us to ensure that they are taking into account all important risks and points of view. Finally, we utilized our decision-making abilities to select the best alternative.
Leadership skills: Leadership qualities are essential in a team. My team members benefit from my leadership qualities. The simulation gave me excellent experience working as part of a team to reach a common objective, as well as the opportunity to acquire critical skills applicable to real-world business scenarios. As a group, we recognized the following constructive feedback for the C-suite executives:
Improve communication: Throughout the team work, we saw a lack of good communication among all team members, which resulted in misconceptions and delays in decision-making. We urge that C-level executives invest in training or tools to improve their communication and cooperation skills.
Encourage innovation: We found that the team was unwilling to take risks or innovate, limiting our ability to pursue new opportunities. We urge that C-suite executives foster an innovative culture in which team members have the opportunity to take risks and try out fresh concepts.
Overall, the simulation was an excellent learning experience. I get to experience people from different backgrounds and experiences come together to help each other and provide different points of view when coming to a decision and it provides me with valuable skills and knowledge that will be relevant in my future career.

Being a team In this stimulation is one of the most important skills we have learned in this course. This stimulation is all about working together as a team to come up with solutions. There is shared leadership within our team and we all share the responsibility of finding solutions. We use team collaboration to gain success and recognition with each assignment that we do and complete. For these episodes, we designated a team leader who is responsible for answering the interview questions that the team came up with. This allows for the person to be responsible for that part of the assignment and show what they have learned so far in this situation. We have given the information needed for them to answer the questions with the proper knowledge that was provided. Emotional Intelligence refers to one’s capacity to perceive, process, and regulate emotional information accurately and effectively, both within oneself and in others, and use this information to guide one’s thinking and actions and to influence those of others. In this simulation, we came across some emotional situations that were causing a potential threat to our company. We found that some stuff was happening behind our backs and we had to do a press release to answer some of these questions. With emotions being high we had to use some of our emotions to formulate a press release that would show how we are taking this seriously and will proceed with discipline as needed. Communication has also been a great skill to have for this stimulation as it is important that we are all on the same page for the stimulation and we work together when the stimulation requires the group to come together and make the decisions. These skills will be continued to be used by myself and the team and I feel they are great skills to have when working in a team. For the rest of the stimulation, our team will continue to implement the skills and possibly develop new skills along the way. Some feedback I would give to the other C-Suite Executives who are trying to answer some of the prompts in this stimulation would be to collaborate and communicate with one another. Writing a two-paragraph response as a team of 5 can be hard as everyone wants to be able to put their input into the response. I feel like collaborating on ideas and combining them can be a great way for everyone to be heard in the prompts. We also designated a leader who would be answering the interview questions that the team came up with. This allowed us to collaborate on questions and then have someone answer them. There was no confusion when we all communicated and designated people to do certain things so we were able to stay on track. I think it’s important to designate someone to have a doc open and write down ideas for the open-ended questions because then we have everyone’s ideas right in front of us and we can combine ideas to get the prompt completed.
