Scenario: You are a marketing consultant working for a company in the tourism industry (see below). It is important that you gain a good understanding of the industry in which your company operates to ensure you present a well-informed marketing strategy for the launch of your new product.
In this assignment, you are required to complete a PESTELE (politics, economic, sociocultural, technological, environmental, legal and ethical), competitive analysis and SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity and threat) analysis on: Adventure World. Please note that you will have to keep your same company for assignment 3. This is because the assignments are linked together and would create additional work for yourself, if you switched.
Step 1:
Adventure World: is Western Australia’s only hybrid Theme Park/Water Park. Adventure World is conveniently located adjacent to stunning Bibra Lake, which is 25 minutes’ drive from City of Perth and 10 minutes’s drive from the port City of Fremantle. It is well connected by public transport from these Western Australian arrival points and tourist hubs.
Step 2: Once you have chosen your company, begin with desk research on that particular company and environment to perform an analysis of the company’s external and internal environments, i.e. PESTELE, competitive environment, and SWOT analyses.) You will conduct an analysis on the external environmental factors that influence the industry that your company is operating within (PESTELE analysis- cover all 7 factors); competitive landscape/ market dominance (competitive environmental analysis), and the core competencies (Strength vs weaknesses) of your company in comparison to the competitors, and the threats and opportunities that present (SWOT analysis). Your analysis should be based on the Australian marketplace (business operation and consumers).
Presentation of the analysis: The PESTELE, competitor environment and SWOT are to be presented in table format. Ensure all sourced material (it should be the majority of the 3 tables) is referenced in-text. These 3 tables are not included in the word count.
Step 3: Once you have created your PESTELE and SWOT tables, you are required to critically discuss the most critical aspects of the PESTELE and SWOT analyses on your industry and company (in 1500 words).
Important Information:
The word limit is 1500 words, so you should manage your word usage appropriately.
The SWOT and PESTLE tables are reserved for information and facts, the critical analysis and discussion must take place in the discussion.
You will need to reference all facts and support your arguments with justifications from credible sources, such as journal articles, industry publications and academic textbooks.
The required format is 12-point font in either Arial or Times New Roman with 1.5 line spacing.
