Your submitted portfolio should consist of: – Critical discussion of the chosen theme, drawing, if appropriate, on the historical and theoretical context. Your audience is academic. Approx 1,000 words – Screening notes, including an introductory overview of the series and a short reflection on each film. Your audience is the general public. Approx 1,500 words This is your opportunity to research and propose a screening event, based on no more than six films (or three programmes of short films). The submitted portfolio should include some reflection on the intended venue and context, an overview of the programme and the themes it raises, as well as screening notes for each film (or each shorts programme). You will be assessed on the originality of the concept and the extent to which the programme or season both reflects and feeds into the scholarship on the chosen field. Assessment Criteria: How well does the project articulate a clear thematic focus, grounding the series in a theoretically and/or historically-informed context? How original and insightful is the screening programme, offering potential audiences new insight into the works or themes? To what extent does the project demonstrate advanced research into the films included, beyond easily available information on the internet? How well written and presented are the screening notes, paying particular attention to the target audience?
