Assessment Information
This assignment is designed to assess learning outcomes:
1. Evaluate the role of marketing metrics and their role in marketing management.
2. Analyse and assess the appropriateness of data sources used in marketing analysis and financial analysis.
3. Develop and evaluate the relevance of marketing performance measures across different organisational types, including the profit and not-for-profit sectors.
4. Apply analytical tools and techniques to support strategic marketing decision-making.
Please note: Students will be required to undertake a simulated in-tray exercise. The exercise will provide students with marketing metric data and a task brief. Students will be required to develop solutions to the brief using the data provided and submit the completed work in two components as described in the following.
Task brief
In this in-tray exercise, you are the Chief Marketing Officer for a company. You are the market leader, having a close rival, and then a few other players. There is market information given to you in the beginning of the exercise, and then other pieces of information are released in the meantime. You must extract and analyse data from those in order to answer the questions you are given for each part. You are to answer 10 questions to complete this task. (Please see the excel sheet, assessment sheet, and assignment Brief 2)
