Introduction
This assignment is designed to help you apply psychological knowledge and frameworks related to the future of work to a current workplace setting. In this module we will engage with a wide range of theories, frameworks, and concepts involving various aspects of the future of work. One important reason why this knowledge is important is in the application and evaluation of workplaces in order to recommend and support changes in organizations to improve the workplace for all involved. This includes employees, the organisation, clients, and more broadly society as a whole. For this assignment you will choose an organization and engage in a critical analysis in terms of the future of work.
The Assignment Task
You will choose an organization (preferably one which you are familiar with) and critically analyse the organization in terms of their future of work design. You are asked to use the theories, frameworks, and evidence covered in the lectures
This should include at least 2 of the module topics (employment lifecycle, the future of careers, job design and crafting, design at work, neurodiversity, technology, culture, psychological contracts, justice and recovery, workplace safety and ethics).
Present the organization in a short summary
Discuss their strengths and weaknesses in terms of future of work (using concepts and theories)
Use empirical work to make specific and clear recommendations for changes
Be clear on what outcomes (again, specific and measurable) you expect.
Details
Along with the Introduction and Final Summary, the report should amount to 2000 words in total. Your final submission must be made to Turnitin as a complete and single piece of work, made up of a Title Page (e.g. ‘Report: Analysis of organizational future of work design’), along with an Introduction, Final Summary, References List and Appendix. The title page, references and appendix are not included in the final word count. Please ensure that your title page includes your Sussex ID number and the word count. Please thoroughly check and proof-read your work, before submission. You are encouraged to write in prose, using appropriate headings and sub-headings throughout.
