Journal assignment:For Journal Entry 4, begin by watching Lecture 7 on the prevention of hearing loss. The goal of this journal is to help you assess how much noise you are exposed to during a typical day. You are asked to keep a log of noise readings during the course of a single day – from the time you get up in the morning until the time that you go to bed in the evening. Take samples throughout the day as your location or the general noise level around you changes. It would be beneficial for you to place yourself in the typical types of situations in which you would usually find yourself. For example, you will want to leave your dwelling (if possible) and take readings of noise levels on the busiest street near where you live. You will also want to take readings whenever you are exposed to situations when the noise level changes within your home (i.e. when you turn on the TV or the blender). You will also want to take readings whenever you are wearing headphones. The goal is to discover the general amount of noise that you are exposed to during the day.
