1. First, find one key point (e.g. idea or outcome) that you find interesting from the academic text. Do not repeat the abstract. Instead clearly explain why find that point interesting.
2. Second, find a practice-based article, blog or trade article that helps you understand the one point you selected from the academic article in more depth. Discuss how this article extends your understanding.
3. Third, provide a marketing communication text (e.g. a print ad, bill board, TVC, social media post, blog etc). Discuss how the text exemplifies what you have written in response to 1 and 2.
D) Format & word limits
Your paragraphs should be between 150 and a maximum of 200 words for each section. This should be followed by a reference list.
Your writing must be in proper paragraph format, you are permitted and encouraged to use bullet points (sparingly), lists, diagrams or charts to support the arguments you are presenting. A good paragraph will always have an opening sentence that introduces your topic or main point, a body of sentences that makes your key points in a logical sequence, and a closing sentence that draws conclusions. Where you are writing more than a single paragraph, the reader should be able to feel that each additional paragraph flows naturally on from the previous paragraph. Please note that due to the restrictive word count, you do not have to include an introduction or conclusion.
Please note that this part of the assignment is a reflection, so it is okay to use ‘I’ statements.
