Assignment Overview
Although this assignment is not due until the end of week 5, you will need time to research and complete.
Please answer the prompts in the template using your previous external and internal analysis of Draft Kings and any additional research conducted on your own. The answers you provide in this submission regarding the internal and external environment do not have to match what you put in team project 1.
You may use other internet or library sources, but they should be reputable and objective business news or industry-specific outlets – NOT PODCASTS or POLITICAL OPINION SITES.
Instructions:
You must use this template: This template document Team Project 2 – Strategy & Forecasting Template (1).docx Download Team Project 2 – Strategy & Forecasting Template (1).docxis broken out in sections and below the section items is a place for you to enter your answer. Very similar to the Project 1 document.
You should submit your assignment via CANVAS on or before the due date/time. You MUST cite sources of information in APA format (include a reference page at the end of your submission). You should number your citations in the text of the paragraphs as described throughout the semester. The references at the end of the document should be listed numerically, not alphabetically. If the information is not your own assumption or insight it will need a citation. Be sure to put information in your own words to avoid plagiarism. In other words, information taken from sources should never be verbatim unless it is in quotes and effective business writing keeps quotes to a minimum. “Turnitin” will help you avoid plagiarism issues. Give yourself enough time to submit and make changes prior to the deadline.
This is a team assignment. Feel free to divide the work between team members as you see fit, but a designated person or a small group should be responsible for a final read through that checks for consistency and grammar. We will also be grading your writing skills including spelling, grammar, syntax, and flow. Feel free to use Grammarly or some other software tool to assist you with your writing if you wish.
The SWOT analysis that you just finished in your earlier team project is the highest-level summary of the most important and impactful internal and external factors (good and bad) affecting the company. Once you know what the major issues are that you need to address, you then need to develop (formulate) your specific recommended actions and sequence of actions to maximize the competitive positioning of the company over the next 5 years. You then need to build a five-year financial forecast based on your previous research and on the recommended actions in your strategic plan. You will need to first provide short-term strategy suggestions (what should the company do right now), and then longer-term strategies for what the company should do thereafter through year 5. Yes, some of the strategies may, and probably should, overlap because they take longer than the first year to execute.
