Nestle Europe: Beverages and Powders (Use the information as per the 5 years reports only).
Business report:
The case study company provides you with a ‘platform’ on which to develop your knowledge.
The purpose of this assignment is to encourage students to engage in experiential and reflective learning, to synthesise this experience with the learning of other modules on the programme, and to relate the learning and research from the BMGT 7071 module to your future work role and the case study company in particular.
TASK: Conduct a strategic analysis of the case study company. You must apply your learning from the SPP software and your other modules in your programme to produce a business report (max. 2500 words, minus 10% is allowed), which evaluates the competitive advantage of the case study company in its business environment.
Your submission should be in the form of a business report. There should also be a reflection on how the group has worked together and what your contribution was to the group work (maximum 500 words), which is not included in the word count but will be marked (10% of final mark). There may also be appendices and a list of references, which are not counted either towards the word-count. However, an excessive use of appendices is a sign of poor report writing technique.
Your report should include at least the following elements:
1. Using the case study company and other research material identify the key drivers for change and the critical success factors in the industry; and critically evaluate how the company has responded to these. To undertake this task you should include the following:
(a) Identify with evidence and critically evaluate the core elements of the company (size, activity, market position, geographical reach, etc.).
(b) Identify with evidence and critically evaluate the key drivers of change – this should be a synthesis of the most important factors from your external environment analysis.
(c) Identify with evidence and critically evaluate the critical success factors for the company to prosper.
2. Identify with evidence and critically evaluate the resources, capabilities and the performance of the case study company over the past five years and conclude on how these factors have contributed to its competitive advantage.
Note: the meaning of ‘Identify with evidence’ means that you must refer back to all of the evidence you and your group have collected and presented in the SPS software. There must be a clear link between your business report and the findings of the research done within the software.
The business report must cover the key elements identified above. The work must demonstrate rigour in citing relevant sources in the body of your text and referencing following the Business School guidance.

● You must use a Cover Sheet and include it as the first page of your assignment. This should indicate the title and the number of words used for your submission.
Comments for my business report:
The workload was evenly distributed among team members, with everyone contributing to various sections of the Strategic Planning Software (SPS).
Consequently, each member has gained comprehensive familiarity with the software, ensuring equal knowledge of all pertinent data and sections relevant to the organization under consideration.
In my role, I focused on analyzing PESTLE factors, applying the 5 Porter’s framework, assessing the Value Chain section, and examining Corporate Strategy and Development Strategy. These areas were my primary focus as I diligently gathered information to support our group in completing the assignment.
Your assignment when submitted should not include your name – we use a system of anonymous marking to reduce the risk of any unconscious bias. For some authentic assessments, there may be an exception to this, so please confirm with your Module Leader.
Your assignment should be presented in the following format:
It must be word-processed in 11-point Arial font and double-spaced.
It must be black text on a white or ivory background.
All pages must be numbered.
Margins must be as follows: Top: 1 inch, Bottom: 1 inch (2.5 cm), Left: 1.25 inches, Right: 1.25 inches (3.2 cm).
