Please refer to the attached WK 11 file. Essentially, for this assignment, we are performing a metholdogical reflection using an Anayalis method. I have decided to use a Metaphor analysis. I’d like to discuss rappers and how they use metaphors in their music. Drake and Kanye West are the two artists I’m interested in. Here are some comments from my teacher about the document below. My research question is “How do rappers use metaphors strategically in their lyrics to
express complex emotions, social commentary, and personal narratives”?

“Thanks for this proposal. I think you are laying out the stakes of the discussion usefully, and I think you have a case to make for creativity and (or is it versus) rhetorical strategies in terms of metaphor use.
I see you still need to develop corpus inclusion/exclusion criteria–how are you going to pick the artists/albums/songs? That will be central to your project’s findings and key to the overall persuasiveness — why study these cases and not others.
I appreciate your concern about how to approach and portray sensitive topics, especially if your goal is to illustrate creativity but not glorify positions you find ethically concerning. One way around this is to narrow your corpus to works you think have ethical merit, rather than popular or critical acclaim. That might shift the research question and stakes to something like how do rappers compose songs/albums in ethical ways. But then, since you are dealing with art rather than rhetoric, there’s always the question of whether art has to be good/depict what is good. Does the moral always need to be moral, in other words.This is an eternal debate, so it is one you can engage with but don’t need to solve.
Another way to approach it is to be very methodical and pointed in your analysis, using description to provide a rigorous exploration of the lyrics and leave the reader to make ethical judgments.”
Lastly while completing this assignment I will have to present in front of the class So I would like a brief paragarph explaing what I chose to this metaphor analyis on.
