Your final paper can be on any smart city topic that interests you; it can either focus on one issue or be a general overview of a concept. You may choose to make the paper about any region, city, or neighborhood in Canada or outside Canada. You can also take a comparative approach and contrast different contexts of the same issue, problem, or solution to a problem.
Your paper should have the following sections:
Introduction: introduce your topic, state why we should care about it, describe your thesis, and tell us your conclusion very briefly,
Background: a detailed description of your topic and a review of relevant literature
Discussion: an analysis of the key points challenges and opportunities, pros and cons of different arguments including your own, your evaluation of the arguments
Conclusion: a brief summary of your topic and the arguments that support it, iteration of the importance of your research, gaps in literature that future research can address,
Bibliography
Formatting instructions for the final paper: 8- 10 pages in length (excluding bibliography), double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, and standard margins. Adhere to proper citation in the APA 7 style. You are allowed to embed one figure and one table within the paper. Use an appendix for additional figures and tables.
