Your assignment this week is to create a 5-minute presentation based on your professional ethics statement. It should consist of approximately 8–10 well-designed, informative, and engaging slides.
Assume that you are the new manager of a small business or possibly a department manager in a larger business. In your first meeting with the employees you will be in charge of, you feel it is crucial to communicate your ethical values to emphasize their importance to the work that you will be doing.
Prepare a presentation that briefly summarizes the key points you made in your professional ethics statement. Rather than copy the whole text, use bullet points and short phrases that concisely communicate your main ideas.
You will create an audio or audiovisual narrative approximately 5 minutes long. The easiest way to do this is by using the recording feature in PowerPoint. Audio is required; video is optional.
The presentation should contain the following content.
A title slide that includes the title of your presentation, your name, DeVry University, and the course identifier (ETHC232)
A slide that explains the purpose of the presentation
A slide that discusses your ethical obligations to your customers or clients
A slide that discusses ethical challenges that are common in your profession, including references to external sources
A slide that discusses your ethical obligations to your fellow employees
A slide that discusses resolving ethical dilemmas
A conclusion that sums up the main points
References slide
You will be graded on your demonstrated understanding of ethical theories, overall slide quality (visual appeal, grammatical correctness, accuracy), and overall audiovisual presentation quality (clear voice, smooth delivery).
