You will need to write a 750-1000 word reaction to Disney’s Song of the South. This is a formal paper so you will need your name, a title, a proper introduction, paragraphs, page numbers, and a concluding paragraph. There will be 4 parts to this response. Proper grammar, spelling, and clarity will be counted in your overall grade.
1) Summary of the film.
2) Your personal thoughts on the film.
3) Analysis of the film and incorporation of at least 2 sources
4) Your conclusions on whether or not the film should not be shown in the United States and why?
This work was controversial at the time of its release but was loved by many and re-released in theaters into the 1980s. You need to find support for your position and analysis. You will need to include at least two sources in your paper. One must be from the week’s assigned reading by Daniel Stein but the other has some flexibility. For example, this podcast series has an entire season devoted to The Song of the South:
