You will be reading the sections of a paper individually through this series of assignments. For Part 1, you will only be looking at the introduction of a peer-reviewed primary journal article.
After reading the introduction, you will identify the key terms from the text and link them together by creating a concept map or a mind map. This is most simply done by drawing your map on a piece of paper and uploading either a picture from your cellphone or a scanned PDF of the map.
Key tips:
- Limit the number of key terms and expand your concepts only as necessary.
- This doesn’t have to be perfect. I’m looking to see that you can take new information and organize it. Everyone will have a unique map so there are no “right” or “wrong” answers.
- Don’t get bogged down by vocabulary you don’t understand. It may be useful to make a word bank of the terms that you don’t understand and then define those words.
