You have just inherited $ 50,000 from Uncle Olaff.  The only requirement for the inheritance is that you invest the full amount in the stock market.  You are to choose 5 companies to invest the $ 50,000 (hypothetical money).  You may pick and choose the companies and the amounts that you want to invest in, as long as you invest in a total of 5 companies.  You are to monitor the stocks at least 2 times weekly for the next 9 weeks.  You need to “purchase stocks” on September 15 and sell the stocks on November 20. You are to track your stocks, report your final earnings/losses, create a chart reporting your weekly monitoring and answer the following questions in paper format (no outline or Q/A format). You may use headings, but do not use outline format.
Introduce all 5 companies (separately).
Provide a brief history of each company(how they got started, who was the founder, how did company idea unfold, how successful is the company, how strong are they in their industry, etc).
Explain why you selected each company.
What product/service does the company provide? Provide a brief summary of what they offer to the market and what they are known for.
Explain how you invested your money in detail.
how many shares of stocks did you purchase in each company
what was the cost per share
total dollar value invested initially in each company
total dollar value made or lost in each company
Provide a chart/table (in the appendix) detailing the dates that you monitored your stocks weekly and how the stock did each week (amount of gain/loss per share compared to original price paid per share). This is a table of your weekly tracking of the stocks you bought. Include this in the appendix.
Performance Summary: summarize how you did with your investment.
Sell your stocks on Nov 20 and calculate your gain/loss for each company.
Discuss how you did with each investment and overall as a whole. Which company was most successful for you? Which company was the least?  Why do you think that is?
Analyze why you think you made or lost money. What was happening in the economy or environment or politically or in industry that impacted your stocks. Discuss.
Conclusion: What did you learn from the stock market? Do you think the election will impact your stocks? Discuss and justify why or why not.
Summarize what would you do differently.
Would you invest in each company again if you could? Discuss.
Would you invest your own money in the stock market if you had the chance? Why or why not?
What are 3 challenges and concerns you may have with investing in the stock market? Discuss and justify. Be specific.
Take Away lesson: Discuss 1 take-away lesson from the project
