You can choose any movie from the list provided for your project. Question one is crucial because it requires you to explain how the selected movie relates to the themes discussed in the course. I’ve uploaded the syllabus, which will help you review the topics covered in class and choose a movie that aligns well with your studies. Make sure to maintain clarity and precision as you proceed with this task.
Extra credit Spring 2024
Due Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11:59 pm
Submit the assignment as a Word Document or PDF to Prof. Staton via email ****************** with the subject line: Extra Credit [Course Title]
Instructions:
●  Choose a lm from the list below that is about an artist and write a response 1-2 page
response paper
●  Divide the paper into two parts:
○  Part 1: summarize the lm
○  Part 2: your reaction to the lm
●  For part 1 (for inspiration):
○  Identify the director, release date, and title of the work
○  Write an informative, concise summary of the plot
Condense the plot by highlighting its main points
Use direct quotations from the lm to illustrate important ideas
Summarize the material so that the reader gets a general sense of all key aspects
of the lm
Do not discuss in great detail any single aspect of the lm, and do not neglect
to mention other equally important points
Also, keep the summary objective and factual. Do not include in the rst part
of the paper your personal reaction to the lm; your subjective impression will
form the basis of the second part of your paper
●  For part 2, focus on any or all of the following questions:
○  How is the lm related to ideas and concerns discussed in the course? For example, what points made in the course textbook, class discussions, or lectures are treated more fully in the work?
○  How is the lm related to problems in our present-day world?
○  How is the material related to your life, experiences, feelings, and ideas? For instance,
what emotions did the lm arouse in you?
○  Did the lm increase your understanding of a particular issue? Did it change your
perspective in any way?
○  Evaluate the merit of the lm: the importance of its points, its accuracy, completeness,
organization, and so on.
○  You should also indicate here whether or not you would recommend the lm to others,
and why.
If you complete this assignment in a satisfactory manner, up to 10 points will be added to your lowest test grade.
