You are to observe and/or interview a child or adult in the age range of interest to you (only after securing permission from the adult or the parent of the child) a minimum of three times during the semester. Each observational period should last at least 45-minutes and you are to have enough information gathered so that you include (at the minimum) two separate examples from each developmental area. The case study should be written and turned in as per the due date listed below. The case study should include a brief description of the person observed and then focus on describing the cognitive-languge, social-emotional, and physical-motor development of the person, using the concepts and terms learned in this course (included in files)—and using APA style when citing your sources. Please include a research source cited APA style for each developmental area. (minimum of 3) The three listed areas, above (cognitive-language, social-emotional, and physical-motor development) should serve as headings for your APA-styled paper. The “body” of the paper (excluding title, abstract, and reference pages) should be approximately 5 – 7 pages in length.
IMPORTANT: For the three (3) designated developmental areas, above, you are able to be a little creative. For example, for the area of Physical-Motor Development, you are able to observe/describe 2 examples of physical development (only), 2 examples of motor development (only), or 1 example of physical development AND 1 example of motor development. You are able to do this in the other two areas of development, as well.
PLEASE include hand written observations pertaining to the developmental analysis of the case study.

Because this is a research paper, you are to use research to help you explain your findings. You have done research papers before and know they all require sources and citations. Here, too, you MUST cite and reference the theory/research within your paper. If you do not, it is plagiarism/cheating. Use APA-Style. Cite the original authors of the research/book/theory correctly.
A 5 -7 page paper is a good length to adequately cover this material.
