What I am looking for in the 10 notes is which parts of the document made an impression on you and then tell me why?
For example, what words, phrases, parts, points, ideas, “jumped out” or “stood out” to you? And then elaborate on why? It can be the case where you are learning about and writing about words or vocabulary are new to you. That counts as a valid observation – new vocabulary words but you need to do the work of looking up the word and writing about what you learned about the word.
I am not interested in you telling me what the excerpt text is trying to say. I can read the excerpt text. No need to reinterpret quotes or what the author is saying or trying to say. That’s more high school skill practice and ideally, we are supposed to be beyond that level now.
For example, I am looking for written explanations that are making or creating deep, thoughtful, compelling, insightful, keen, observant, aware, gripping, reflecting, connections to either the present or the past or some other “valid” revelation. You are expected to remain on topic, making sophisticated connections, demonstrating reasonable and fair interpretations.
