The dependent variable (FINANCE) in above regression equation measures the obstacles faced by firms in accessing finance. Consistent with prior literature, this variable is the answer to the following question
“To what degree is access to finance an obstacle to the current operations of this establishment?” Firms have the choice of selecting one of the following five answers: 0 (No Obstacle), 1 (Minor Obstacle), 2 (Moderate Obstacle), 3 (Major Obstacle), and 4 (Very Severe Obstacle).3 The main independent variable (CLIMATE) measures the climate risk faced by the country. etc
