For this assignment, you will write an individual program proposal paper that identifies and describes the central theme(s) described in a chapter of their choice from the book City of Inmates: Conquest, rebellion, and the rise of human caging in Los Angeles. That is correct – only pick ONE chapter from the book to focus on. You will turn in a 3-4 page program proposal paper detailing what kind of program you would like to create to assist the justice impacted community group described in their chapter of City of Inmates: Conquest, rebellion, and the rise of human caging in Los Angeles that you chose.
You will turn in your own paper no later than May 13th. The paper will consist of 25 points. Each paper will be graded on the below key elements as well as the critical thinking and advocacy skills demonstrated.
Each student’s paper should address the following questions:
What justice impacted community group is the student aiming to help? Please provide a description.
What factors were the justice impacted community group dealing with? Please detail the barriers they faced?
What program is the student proposing that could help the justice impacted community group?
What did it feel like (for you personally) to think about the experiences of the justice impacted community group? What thoughts went through your mind?
