Write an analytical essay on the film “Rear Window”, you are expected to re-watc

April 27, 2024

Write an analytical essay on the film “Rear Window”, you are expected to re-watch movie and incorporate the close reading you’ve already completed for a clip of the film. Each paper will be approximately 1000 words long. Formatting: All papers must have one-inch margins and be typed in 12-point Times New Roman Font, double spaced. In the left-hand corner, include your name, the instructor’s name, title of the course and section number, and the date. Each paper should include a title and page numbers.
This was the close reading:    In this scene we find Lisa on the other end of the Jeff’s lens which finally gives Lisa the attention from
Jeff she has strived for. However, it also makes Jeff aware of the danger Lisa is in. When Thorwald enters
the apartment while she is still in it, Jeff is forced to realize that he is a passive participant at a safe
distance but the events are far too real. Lisa continues to try and show evidence to Jeff even though it
placed her in an even more dangerous situation because she is still attempting to “win over” Jeff. When
she shows Jeff that she has Thorwald’s wedding ring, this could have a couple meanings. First, it seems
to say that everything has come full circle. Second, it could signal that Lisa is fully committed to Jeff and
wants to be his wife. The phone call to the detective let’s us see that Jeff is realizing that Lisa is so much
more than just a pretty face. He brags on how brave she was and that she got the evidence they needed.
He realizes that Lisa put herself in real danger to pursue their adventure. At the end of the scene, the
phone rings and at first Jeff thinks it is the detective again, but soon realizes that it’s Thorwald and the reality of the danger he is in.
