Use four-five sources and no more
• Your essay must be typed and double spaced. The font size should be twelve and the font style should be Times new roman or Arial.
• Your essay must contain a thesis statement at the end of your introduction (your introduction could extend to two paragraphs if the need arises).
• Please format according to MLA style.
• Your essay must contain in-text documentation or citation, and the last page of your document must be a
“Works Cited” page that lists entries corresponding to in-text citations.
• Your essay must consist of 2000 words (excluding the “works cited” page).
• You must avoid logical fallacies as much as your knowledge lets you avoid them. The idea is to be aware that mistakes in logic can happen easily.
• Your paper should reflect critical contemplation and the result of it. That means, your paper should demonstrate that you have looked at all sides of the issue you’re presenting and that you have looked at the issue as deeply as a two-thousand-word paper allows you to do so. It means you’re adding your own discovery, from your research, to the pool of thought that already exists on your topic.
• A quotation shouldn’t extend beyond four- fivelines. Note: Too many quotations and paraphrases will take away from your originality or your I SAY.
• Try not to use more than two quotations per type-written page. This limitation doesn’t mean that you’ll lose points if you break the rule out of necessity.
• Originality is crucial.
