Watch the video and write an email based on the following instructions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19MNAajZnts You are Toby Flenderson. Your boss, Michael Scott, along with the help of your co-worker, Dwight Schrute, just attempted to frame you. You have never done anything to Michael and Dwight, but for some reason they have it out for you, and this is not the first time they have done something like this. You have finally had enough.
You could file a formal complaint with the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company head office, but you’ve decided to deal with the issue directly and send an email to Michael and Dwight telling them how you feel. Since everyone else saw what happened, you’ve also decided to copy the rest of the office employees in the email. For this activity, you will write three things:
1) A short email to Michael and Dwight that breaks the fundamental rules of good business writing: make the email not audience-oriented, unpurposeful, unprofessional, and uneconomical. Basically, write the email that Toby would love to write but probably shouldn’t.
2) Write a short (one paragraph) explanation that explains why your “ineffective” email is so bad. Point out a couple specific places where the rules have been broken, and then discuss WHY these errors are problematic (. what problems they might cause, etc.).
3) Re-write the email so that it is actually effective. It should be audience-oriented, purposeful, professional, and economical.
