THEORY BASED CASE STUDY (CBT)
Theory Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses mainly on the idea that maladaptive thoughts are the cause for a person’s distress in life. This theory is matter of fact and relies on psychoeducation as well as logic. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tracks and assesses irrationalbeliefs or thoughts, and challenges the client to find evidence to support those thoughts. CBTlooks at how our thoughts influence our behaviors which then influences our emotions. CBT canbe used for a wide variety of people with many different diagnoses such as Generalized AnxietyDisorder, eating disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, etc. Therapists who use CBT fortheir clients use a mix of empathy and compassion as well as logic to help the client come upwith replacement behaviors for the ones that are currently causing distress
