To prepare:
Refer to the Practicum Journal document.
Begin to think about learning objectives that would guide your practicum hours, as well as the activities you will undertake to achieve those objectives. Refer to the DNP Essentials and your specialty competencies to inform your development of the learning objectives.
Develop a time line for your Practicum Experience. Note: You are required to keep a log of the time you spend related to your practicum experience. You can access your time log from the Welcome page in your Meditrek account. Please make sure to continuously input your hours throughout the term. Time logs are reviewed by your instructors in weeks 3, 7 and 11.
Write a 1- to 3-page paper that identifies three or four learning objectives, key activities, and a proposed time line for your Practicum Experience.

Key activities for the week is to meet with nursing leadership of a step down unit to discuss the needs of the unit . WOuld it be helpful to continue working on improving nurses responses to codes and defining roles in a code. Meetings will also be help with the staff of this unit to see and discuss the perceive needs. Leadership meetings and policy meetings with also be attending. This way needs will be clarified for other units and compared to the needs of the step down unit and how I could help to bridge the gap. Assessment of needs are very important.
