Conformity and bad influence happens because of lack of conviction. For example, young people are lured to smoke by their friends or colleagues, even movies who tell them it is cool to smoke. When people smoke for the first few times, they feel different, not in a good way, but they continue doing it, because others are doing it. After sometime, they get used to it and start enjoying it to the extent of being addicted then they want to quit and go back to normal which they knew from the beginning that smoking was not healthy but could not stand their ground and did what they did to impress others only because they lacked conviction.
