Good News: Communication Plan
Your team will use this scenario to build your team communication strategy.
“Good news! Our company has been acquired by another and will now have the money it needs to begin and expand its original goals. You, the Communication Officer, and your team must create a communication plan aimed at lower-level management and workers. It should explain what will change and how the process will proceed at the employee level. Will there be new staff? Will any positions be eliminated? When will new procedures begin and in which departments?”
Establish the details about your team: what does your organization makes or do for example? Focus on the questions below, be specific, and explain your responses with terms and concepts from the readings. Provide in-text citations. It is highly recommended that each of have your suggestions prepared and ready for you first team meeting.
Once your team has decided on the specifics of what your organization makes or does, you will incorporate what you have learned in the course about the importance of ethical decision-making, social responsibility, codes of conduct, how to create a communication plan, writing about the elements of an internal communication strategy and more into this assignment. As a team, you will all come to a consensus as to what these components will entail.
What do the employees currently know about the purchase of the organization?
What do they know about the goals that have been postponed, and what are their current perceptions and attitudes? What perceptions and attitudes do you hope to cultivate?
“Twelve essential elements of a successful internal communication strategy” are provided in Chapter 11. Which six of those will your team focus on first and why?
Will your strategic plan call for information to flow upward, downward, and/or horizontally? Explain why.
Which internal communication mediums will you use to reach employees and low-level managers? Will the content of all your messages be the same for them all? What issues must you consider?
Based on our readings and discussions throughout the course in regard to ethics, codes of conduct, integrity and social responsibility including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), explain the relevant codes of conduct and social responsibility that need to be accounted for and how were they communicated within your team. In addition, explain how you demonstrated integrity by applying the relevant codes of conduct and social responsibility with your team throughout the duration of this project.
