Discussion leader: Provides a recap and specific relevant information from the short story, then asks one thoughtful question to the group related to the topic of the week.
These posts should include the following information about the story:
A one or two-sentence synopsis that sums up the plot. Be sure to include the tension of the story.
(Ex: A woman with an abusive family is visited by a fairy, then attends a ball and falls in love with a prince.)
A list of characters in the story, starting with the central character(s).
Where is the story set (location)?
In what time period is the story set (present day? a particular year or era)?
What point of view does the author use?
First person: the narrator uses I and is telling the story from their own perspective
Second person: the story is addressed to “you”—think choose your own adventure or instructions
Third person: the narrator uses she/him/them type pronouns and tells the audience about the characters
One thoughtful question about the story for your peers to answer.
