Overview of Assignment: I-O professionals will typically work as internal or external consultants in organizations. For this assignment, find someone who currently works as an I/O Psychologist or Consultant in any organization, and interview them for at least 45 minutes, preferably more. For this assignment, the person you are interviewing should be someone who works as an I/O Psychologist or consultant. This could include a business owner or entrepreneur.
How will you find one? This is where you will need to network with the community. Use your LinkedIn skills to connect with professionals or through your personal network.
Potential questions you could ask (you can add or use your own questions as well):
Tell me about your job and the organization you work for.
Tell me about the industry and the environmental factors that impact your work.
If you were to describe a typical day in your work week, what would it be like?
What sorts of challenges do you face in getting your work done?

Do you need special training, licensure, or degrees to be in your field?
What do you think the future looks like for your type of work?
Assignment Instructions: After interviewing them, write an essay (3 pages max) summarizing who you interviewed and what you learned.
In your essay, describe the person’s job, roles and responsibilities.
Write about what you took away about the person’s role, and the challenges they face on the job. Highlight new insights about I/O Psychology that you took away
from this interview.
Talk about whether this is a field you see yourself working in (why or why not).
The essay is worth 20 points to be divided as follows: 5 points for description of the role and 15 points for your reflections.
