Describe how the artist used his or her chosen medium to draw attention to the subject. (e.g. What techniques did he/she use? What principles of art were used? What is the format or design? What elements (e.g. instruments, colors, materials, etc.) were used to create the artwork?)
When, where and by whom was the artwork created?
What factors influenced the artist to create this artwork?
How effective was the artist in achieving their goal?
Explain IN DETAIL why this social issue is important today. Support your explanation with several facts and examples. Explain why the public should be concerned about this issue and discuss what action needs to be taken.
Create a guide for others that shows how they can learn more and/or take action. Your guide MUST contain AT LEAST THREE resources for readers. (You can provide links to organizations dedicated to this issue, newspaper articles, sample letters to elected representatives, petitions, places to donate or volunteer, information about upcoming events related to the issue, etc.) Provide a brief explanation for each resource. (Don’t just provide a link.) Your guide should be separate from your discussion of the issue. Please put it at the end in list format.

(Wikipedia is a tertiary (condensed) source of information and should not be used as a reference in your assignments. It is, however, a good resource for finding primary and secondary sources that may be acceptable.) You must properly document any outside sources of information that you use.
Analyze your artwork and social issue thoroughly. Write an in-depth response to each part of the question that is supported by facts and examples. Your answer should contain original ideas, connections, and insights that go beyond the basic information presented in the textbook, tutorials, or lectures, and beyond what is commonly known or observed.
It’s okay to use an occasional quote or reference to another source. However, the majority of your answer should be comprised of your own original thoughts and conclusions on the subject.
Your answer should be clearly organized so that one idea naturally flows to the next. You should use complete sentences with good grammar, punctuation and spelling. You may not use text-messaging abbreviations in this assignment. Use a new paragraph when changing ideas or making a new point.
