Overview
A useful tool for gauging one’s effectiveness in a role, particularly in a leadership role, is a self-assessment of competencies. In this module, you learned about the Leadership Circle profile. It is one of the most comprehensive leadership assessment systems available. It measures both the inner and outer aspects of leadership. It is organized into a very powerful system for understanding human behavior and development and for making sense of the interrelationships between the many dimensions being evaluated. For this assignment, complete the Leadership Circle Profile Self-Assessment and reflect upon your results in a journal. In this course, the journals will be used for reflection. This is a private conversation between you and your instructor, and you are encouraged to deeply explore the concepts presented.
Note: When you register for the Leadership Circle profile self-assessment, please make sure that you use your SNHU email. The results of your assessment will be emailed to you, and you must attach those results to your journal submission.
Prompt
Record a reflective journal video about your understanding of your personal profile. The Leadership Circle Profile Self-Assessment will be important to revisit for the completion of Milestone One in Module Three. In this reflective journal, you are not required to use sources; however, you can emphasize and support your thinking with resources if you feel it is applicable. Address the following:
Purpose: How are self-assessment tools, such as the Leadership Circle profile, useful to you as a developing leader? Explain.
Impact: What part of your results were the most impactful? Explain.
Application: How could you apply the results of your assessment in your current or intended industry or job? Explain.
Reflection: Consider your comfort level with the scaling leadership concept, with modifying your leadership style to be more of a transformational leader, and with using more of the creative competencies discussed in the Scaling Leadership resource.
