There is no policy in place that allows for foods to be taken home even if such foods are considered left over or wasted. The employee has worked for many years in the facility, is a productive employee, has been nominated by the facility as “employee of the month” by peer workers, and does not have other disciplinary issues. The foodservice supervisor does not want to counsel or discipline the employee because Administrative Assistants to the CEO were observed taking catering leftovers from the facility.” What are the key issues in the case study?
