• Introduce the global issue you are researching. Why did you choose this global issue?
Why is it important? What makes it a “global” issue? Include a statement (a sentence or
two) describing class concept option you have chosen and will use to analyze the issue
Also, briefly introduce what case-study (real-world example) you will focus on.
• Provide some basic facts and historical background about the issue you chose.
II. Application of Global Politics Class Concepts (50%)
The Effects of Globalization
• Define globalization
• How is this global issue related to globalization? Is it positively or negatively affected by
it?
• What is your prognosis in terms of the future of the problem in relation to globalization?
Global Actors and Institutions
• Define the concept of global actor
• Which global actors currently deal with this issue and how?
• Which global actors should deal with this issue more?
CASE-STUDY (30%)
• Discuss one case-study/example(s) of how the issue you chose manifests in global
politics.
CASE/EXAMPLE 1: Choose a setting (country, city, region) where this problem
occurs. For example, human trafficking occurs all over the world. Choosing
Cambodia as a “case study” will help you specify the issue further. Focus on why
this issue occurs in the particular setting, provide context for the issue in the form
of statistics or other relevant evidence, and discuss what is being done and by
whom. How does this case relate to our domestic context
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS (10%)
• What are your policy recommendations? What should be done and by whom?
• What are your predictions for the future of this issue? What is the outlook?
FORMATTING:
• The paper should be 4-6 pages long, typed, double spaced.
• Include both in-text citations and a works cited page in APA or MLA style,
• Use at least three scholarly sources (journal articles and/or books) in your paper, in
addition to news stories from credible sources, reports by organizations such as the UN,
EU etc
