Government employees are not allowed any gifts from individuals or agencies they come into contact with as it may seem that they have accepted a bribe. Many agencies have limitations on how they can reward staff for a job well done. Merit pay is permitted on a yearly basis, but it is usually permitted to only a certain percentage of staff. Create a list of at least 7 different ways that a government agency can acknowledge staff job performance and increase morale throughout the department of 800 employees. Remember that your law enforcement agency is subject to financial review as well. If you spend money from within your department’s budget, you need to be able to justify why you are spending the money.
