Ethical scenario:A group of researches collected data about causes to moral distress in palliative care nurses. Data collected included demographic information, information about the participants’ practice sites, and moral distress was collected using the Measure of Moral Distress for Healthcare Professionals scale. This scale includes potential causes of moral distress. After conducting their initial data analysis, the team discovered no significant findings in this group of participants. The lead researcher knows that they need a publication out of this study for a promotion that they are applying for and re-analyzes the data using different tests that what were included in the initial study plan. In the end, they discover significant results and submit the findings to a reputable journal in palliative care nursing.
