What is Integrative Learning (AAC&U):
Integrative learning is an understanding and a disposition that a student builds across the curriculum and cocurriculum, from making simple connections among ideas and experiences to synthesizing and transferring learning to new, complex situations within and beyond the campus.
Directions:
For this assignment, students will reflect on a experience and how their involvement assists them in their personal or professional development. To do this, please think about your experience as it relates to integrative learning. Then, please do the following as denoted below.
Steps to complete assignment:
Integrate the three components of the LVE Framework (List, View, and Evaluate) into one cohesive reflection statement. The end result will be approximately 2-3 pages in length.
Integrative learning assigment will be on Student Teaching
Student Teaching in a preschool age 3-5 years of age in a special education classroom
STEP 1: List: The first step is to select an experience that involved integrative learning. This portion is just a bulleted list. It should provide the reader with a general overview of your personal or academic experience. Use the following questions to assist in your bulleted list:
1) What was the experience (curricular, co-curricular, etc)? Curricula experiance in a speial education class
2) What was your role in the experience? I was a student Teacher , observing and learning as well as creating my own lesson plans to share with my Mentor Teacher and do the activity with the class.
3) Who was present? The teacher , the teachers aide and the 10 students along with myself
4) Who benefited from the experience?
5) When and Where did this experience take place? In a preschool special education classroom
6) Why did you participate? I was doing my student teaching hours.
STEP 2: View: Then you will describe your personal views of the experience and/or assignment as it relates to integrative learning. Use the list you created in step 1 and the prompts below to assist you in writing an in-depth reflection based on your perceptions:
1) What is your perspective or your personal views on the experience?

3) Cite theory, facts, or give examples to explain your views on integrative learning.

STEP 3: Evaluate: Lastly, you will evaluate your learning. Use the prompts to assist you:

4) In light of this learning, what areas do you think you can improve on?
5) In light of this learning, what goals can you set for the future?
