Throughout the module you will be considering a case study based on an incident that occurred in Lichfield, Staffordshire some years ago and the two assessments will require 100% attendance to ensure you are in possession of all of the evidence in the case.
You need to watch each witness interview in turn and write a statement for them which details their version of events on an MG11 form (all 9 of them – list provided in previous email).
These 9 statements should then be uploaded to your portfolio along with the other 9 witness statements which I sent to you, making a total of 18.
You need to include statements from the following witnesses in your portfolio (all saved as separate MG11s):

The questions that you need to answer for the plan and make the presentation really good on how I did it
What offence are you interviewing on?
What evidence do you have from the statements/ legal definitions to support this?
How might the defendant mitigate against this? How can you check this evidence?
Is there any new evidence?
Are there any discrepancies from other statements you can use in your interview?
How are you going to respond to each of the defendant’s options- detail this which are good/ weak defence?
Detail what questions will be asked by both interviewers
What are the challenges you face interviewing Chris Smith?
Closure options- charge/bail/release- how do you do this?
Evaluation: How did the interview go? / What went well/ not so well? did you get the result you wanted? what impact will it have on the investigation?
The plan covers all possibilities that you may come up against… If chis Deny… what question will you ask? If he is silent? What do you do? If he admits- how will you proceed? If he mitigates- how will you use legal definitions or other evidence to challenge this?
