Chapter 4 of Welsh and Harris gets into nuts and bolts of Action Planning. As you continue to understand the concepts of what action planning is and thinking about it from the perspective of a criminal justice scholar who will one day create your own action plans for whatever agency you end up working for, what do you think are the most important elements of an effective action plan? W & H say that developing an action plan is like writing out an instruction manual, what part of the manual do you think is the most important? And why? Or is it even possible to pick just one area?
Having sufficient money to operate is usually the “be all end all” of most agencies, programs, and interventions, especially non-profit organizations, but funding is also an issue for federal programs like Food Stamps and Medicare which impact us all at different levels of life. With this question: I’m asking you to pick a program, policy, intervention, agency et al, and pretend you are chatting with the Chief Financial Officer. The CFO of that intervention has hired you as a consultant for fund raising purposes. What innovative ways [legal of course] would you suggest a means of raising money to a means of keeping the intervention running because they are currently facing closure due to a lack in financial resources to implement the program/policy. [No repeats on interventions…] Be creative!
