It is no surprise that students experience stress in college. The demands of school, a possible job, family obligations, and anxiety and expectations for the future can all contribute to feeling stressed. Chapters 4 and 9 cover a lot of material about motivation, our emotions, and stress. During this time, we have all experienced incredible changes to our daily lives.

Subjective Happiness and Perceived Stress Questions acc.docx
1. What did you learn about your current level of stress and happiness? Do you feel stressed right now? Do you feel happy right now? Can you be both happy and stressed? How are these states related? What other emotions are you experiencing as you start another semester of school?
2. Do you get enough sleep? Emotions are felt physiologically as well as psychologically. How is sleep related to stress and emotions? That is, what are the consequences of not enough sleep on health, stress, and your emotions, and what are the benefits of sleep on health, reducing stress and regulating emotions?
3. According to the evidence provided in your text and in the videos, what can students do to help relieve stress? You should refer to information in the videos and your text. Your text discussed three coping mechanisms: problem-focused, emotion-focused, and social support, as well as other techniques to reduce stress and increase happiness. Incorporate each of the three coping mechanisms in an example for reducing stress. You also may use methods from each chapter in addtion to the three specifically outlined in Chapter 9. Be specific. For example, have you tried meditation, different coping mechanisms, and other techniques that are discussed in your text?
4. Complete the Needs Assessment Motivation survey under Course Content. Which categories do you fall into? Do these seem aligned with your overall goals? What do you do to keep yourself motivated? (I’m assuming you are motivated because you signed up for a 4-week summer class.)
Please go over the powerpoint and the stress scale. it is for you to do the stress scale and write about it in correlation with the power points attached. I will need the stress scale filled with the paper.
