What did I learn from having to review another person’s paper?
Peer reviewing allows for “Making the writing process more collaborative, giving students opportunities to learn from one another and to think carefully about the role of writing in the course at hand” (Benefits of Peer Review, 2023). In reviewing another person’s individuals’ paper, I have learned self-reflection and critical thinking. The opinions of my peers allowed me to take their accounts into consideration to further enhance my writing. It also allowed me to clarify ideas that may not have been as clear as I initially anticipated. Reviewing others’ work also allowed me to slow down and carefully read what was written and pay attention to detail. It also helped to strengthen my own work by taking others accounts into consideration and expanding on my work. The feedback of other readers allows me to experience my writing through their thoughts and ideas.
How can I strengthen my approach through sampling and analysis approaches?
The best way to strengthen one’s approach is to consider the sample they are using. They can also take into consideration the different approaches they are using as well. It is important to have your research as organized as possible and well designed. One can also make sure they are using a variety of samples as to have a wide range of information. This will also allow the researchers to have a better understanding of what they are doing. It is also quite important to the research information validated and look for any ethical dilemmas that may arise.
What kind of ethical dilemma might I face in my study?
The research present was used to identify the obstacles present for nurses when implementing “stopping the line” for patient safety in order to avoid infections and death in patients. The main ethical issue found within this study consisted of finding nurses who would participate. The nurses would ultimately have to be the ones who would want to fill out the surveys and discuss what happened in the rooms. Many feel that targeted by the surgeons if they participate. I would have to ensure the nurses that this would not occur and all instances would remain anonymous. Also, finding a sample size large enough of nurses willing to participate. I would not want a sample size that was too small where only a handful of nurses would participate. In that event, I feel as though any healthcare provider in the room may have the privilege of participating in surveys because they witnessed the event.
