I’m working on a communications project and need an explanation to help me understand better.Patient-Provider Education Interaction Project (210 points total)Each of you will complete an individual project demonstrating your knowledge of patient education, health literacy, and competent, effective patient-provider interactions. You will apply this knowledge in creating an informational pamphlet/brochure on an illness, disease, or health concern of your choice. This informational pamphlet (75 points) should be geared towards an average patient. You will also write a 1-page script (60 points) demonstrating an actual patient-provider interaction discussing relevant information to the patient about the health concern you’ve chosen, including but not limited to symptoms, care, and prevention. Finally, you should write a 2-page explanation (75 points) of your script and brochure, using at least 3 course concepts to explain the decisions you made in compiling your project. Your explanation should refer to information we’ve learned throughout the semester that influenced how you put together your brochure, and demonstrated in the interaction you’ve depicted in your script. Refer to your knowledge regarding patient education, health literacy, and competent, effective patient-provider interactions. You should cite at least 3 sources for explanation component of your project. You should refer to course material, as well as outside material to inform you about the illness, disease, or health concern you’ve made your pamphlet about.**There are samples of a previous student’s work available under the course resources module. Please take a look at these for additional guidance. Understand that these examples are good, but not perfect.Step 1: You should put together a pamphlet/brochure that you would expect a patient to receive from a healthcare provider or government health official. The pamphlet should include information on what the illness/disease/health condition is, and any relevant information regarding identifying the condition, preventing it, and treating it. For example, if you were putting together a pamphlet on COVID-19 you might include information about what its symptoms are, how to prevent it, and what you should do if you think you’ve contracted the virus. To put together your pamphlet, I recommend using PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, or ADOBE. Each of these programs have Brochure templates that you can start out with and use to create your own unique design. Below you’ll find a link to a video tutorial for creating a brochure/pamphlet in PowerPoint. However, there are hundreds of tutorial videos out there on how to do this in various programs. All you have to do is look.Click here: Your brochure should be double-sided tri- or quad-fold. This means you’ll have two full pages, or slides of content, landscape orientation, and each fold should be organized and pleasing to the eye.I recommend looking for information regarding your chosen health condition on government or official health organization websites, such as the Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Diabetes Association, the Veterans Association, etc.You might also briefly direct the reader of this brochure to an official organization for more resources/information. For example, if you were creating a brochure on End of Life Care Planning, you might direct the reader to hospicegiving.org or another organization specializing in guiding people through this experience.Your brochure will be assessed on creativity and overall appearance. It should be polished, pleasant to the eye, and well-organized and easy to read. It will also be assessed on the information included. Information should be factual, and enough information should be included that the patient. The text should be balanced, and you should include relevant images that complement the information on the brochure. Step 2: You should write a 1-page script depicting a conversation between a patient and their healthcare provider about the health condition/illness/disease.This script should first include a brief profile of the patient of focus and description of the healthcare provider.Who is this person? What is their sex, age, profession? What are their risk factors? What is information that a doctor might want to know about this patient in order to most effectively communicate with them about this health condition/disease/illness? Is this person showing or experiencing symptoms? What brought them in today? Answer these questions, as well as any other information you think is relevant.Who is the provider in this interaction? What is their job? What is their history with this particular patient? Is this an emergency care clinic, an acute care setting, or a clinical setting? The script should depict a back-and-forth conversation between the patient and provider regarding the information that is included on the brochure. Include back-and-forth questioning and answers from both the patient and provider. Denote meaningful nonverbal behaviors when appropriate. The person reading your script should get a real feel for the interaction.Step 3: Finally, write a 2-page analysis and explanation of your brochure and your script. Please refer to at least 3 course concepts in your explanation. Your explanation should refer to information we’ve learned throughout the semester that influenced how you put together your brochure, and demonstrated in the interaction you’ve depicted in your script. Refer to your knowledge regarding patient education, health literacy, and competent, effective patient-provider interactions. You should also speak to the desired outcomes you would expect to be associated with specific communication behaviors and messages depicted in your script and brochure. The paper should be APA style, just as the previous papers you’ve written for this class. You should include an APA style title page and Reference list, running header, page numbers, 12pt Times New Roman Font, double-spaced.A minimum of THREE scholarly sources, cited in-text and in your reference list, are required. You can draw entirely from course readings for your sources, but I encourage you to extend your research beyond course readings when appropriate. When writing your analysis paper be sure you have a clear introduction and conclusion. Your introduction should include an overarching thesis, relevant background information, and a preview of your main points. The body of your paper should explore at least 3 relevant course concepts and explain how they relate to your script and brochure. Your conclusion should identify broader implications for patient-provider interaction as they relate to the specific concepts explored in your paper and demonstrated in your script and brochure. Be sure you are making clear claims, supporting those claims with evidence, and explaining the connection between your claims and the evidence that supports them. Claim-> Data->Warrant (The Toulmin Model or argumentation).
