This is a thesis about how disinformation is used by world leaders for their own gain and power. You are to talk about disinformation and do a case-study about how two populist leaders from different countries (please use Trump and USA as one) use disinformation for their own gain.
Topics of interest that you can explore are covid-19, the economy, and elections. It is an in-depth study comparing and contrasting how these two populist leaders use misinformation for their advantage.
What are they trying to accomplish? What do they gain by spreading misinformation? What roles do media and tech companies have in this? What role does the government and elected officials play? All of these topics are to be explored.
The thesis should be formatted like this:
-Introduction (define disinformation and detail the two world leaders that you will explore in this paper as well as outline the case study)
– Literary review (what others pieces of literature have explored this topic and what will you add to the existing literature?)
– Discussion (talk about the history of the two populist leaders and discuss their methods and what they do, be sure to explore the topics shared above and also remember to compare and contrast in one section after talking about the two leaders separately)
– Findings (what are the reasons they do this, what roles companies play, the government, etc. here you should really dive into the specifics on the research you found)
-Conclusion (talk about future implications this might have and thoughts you have after writing this piece)
– references
