Financial Markets and Monetary Policy
What an interesting time to focus on interest rates, the stock market and essentially, the economy as we emerge from a COVID pandemic. The material for Week 3 continues with TVM but also discusses the financial system, interest rates, the stock market, inflation, etc.
For your Week 3 Discussion Topic, go to the internet and find information (use a reliable sources) that discusses monetary policy, financial markets (don’t dwell on GDP, Supply and demand, Trade policy). You should focus on interest rates (several types, movement, Fed Policy effects, consumer (housing/loans/credit) effects) and Stock Market volatility (go back three years and offer a summary/key points of why the markets (Dow, S&P, etc.) moved, noting significant fluctuations and reasons. Finally, what are the predications on the effects of the markets as the country’s trend is to move beyond the COVID effect?
