Option A: Write an essay exploring the characterization of at least two characters from the play.
Questions to consider as you formulate your approach:
What agency do characters have given the constraints of the time period and location that they are living in?
How do characters reproduce or challenge ideas about race, class, gender, and immigration status?
What is their thematic significance in the piece or pieces?
5 – 7 pages (You must get to the bottom of page 5 and use MLA formatting for the play and the other cited sources.)
In-text citations from the primary text(s) and secondary sources.
No more than two block quotes.
2- 3 secondary sources from an RCC database or chapters from e-books from our RCC library. (Make sure to cite these properly in the Works Cited and in the in-text/parenthetical citations.)
1- 2 other sources.
You may also use any of the assigned critical theory readings, but make sure to cite them and include a Works Cited entry for any source you use. The URL for each source is always located at the bottom of the page. (If it is not, please message me, and I will correct the file.)
