We had a meeting with several successful leaders in theri fields, so they come to our class and shared their experience with us.
Instruction:
Write a 400 word essay about the things you learned during the Panel given today. You must include information of all the presenters (all the leaders).
I will leave you an essay from my friend so you can have an idea what did the presenters talked about during the panel (meeting), but please don’t copy aything from my friend, change it entirely into your own words.
My friend’s essay:
In the panel, we learned that determining what
you want to study is extremely important. Not only because it determines what
you’ll do for the rest of your life on a daily basis, but because it is what
you’ll have to learn to be able to maintain yourself. If you choose a career
you really do not want to study, then I think your life will feel very
miserable because you’ll be spending the rest of your days dedicated to
something you don’t like, which on top of that, is forced to be done, again, in
a daily basis. It’s clearly not a healthy thing to do and it is unfortunate
that some people are subjected by their parents to perform certain careers,
typically the ones that they have already done. I know sometimes it is not done
out of malice, but out of a loving heart, wanting the best for your children,
but I argue otherwise. I think it is more beneficial for a parent’s child to
dedicate themselves to what they enjoy doing the most because of multiple
reasons. One of them is that they will obviously be good at what they do
because they won’t consider themselves being subjected to performing a “task”,
but it’ll feel like they are doing something that they enjoy, since it is
something they most certainly enjoy doing. Another reason is that this will
avoid a huge bullet, which is that of dedicating themselves to a boring and
unwanted life. As mentioned before, not only do you feel miserable, doing
something that you certainly don’t enjoy doing, but, additionally, you will
perform poorly on it. Similarly to how you become good at something because you
enjoy doing it, you can become bad at something because you don’t enjoy doing
it. You’ll do it half-heartedly and without any passion whatsoever. It is
extremely important to determine your career in a safe, careful, and secure
way, since it’ll essentially be your new path in life. Deciding what you want
to study is essentially opening a new door in the path of your life. In the
other side of the door, you’ll find new things, certainly unfamiliar to you.
Deciding if those new discoveries you made are pleasant or not is up to you.
What is also up to you is deciding which door, or career you’ll take. Take a
glimpse at every side of each door and choose wisely, because that’ll determine
your new era to adulthood.
