Identify a type of group that you want to focus on for this assignment (it must be a psychotherapy group, but you can choose the focus and membership of the group, for example, depressed men who are divorced or diverse teens in a substance abuse residential home).
Write a three-page paper that answers the following questions. Be sure to describe how you will ensure that you focus on the here and now (as well as help illuminate the process) in a group therapy setting where you are the facilitator or therapist.
Explore at least four of the elements described in Chapter 6 and explain how you will implement them in a group setting of your choice.
What do you think would be the major challenges in implementing any of these elements you chose and why?
How would you handle or address those challenges?
How would you ensure that diversity was supported in the group with the elements you are focusing on?
How would the elements you are focusing on assist you in demonstrating empathy, reflection, and interpersonal skills in this particular group setting?
Identify and address ethical issues that relate to the use of the here and now and four related elements, challenges, tricky issues, diversity concerns, or other matters that you anticipate might arise. Use the NASW Code of Ethics for this section of your paper.
Your paper should be a minimum of three pages long (not including the title and reference pages) and use APA style conventions (that is, be double spaced, use Times New Roman size 12 font, have one-inch margins, and include a reference page).
Use appropriate scholarly references and citations to support your work.
At the beginning of your paper, be sure to thoroughly describe the group and group members you decided to focus on for this assignment.
