Using your outline from the “Research Design Template” covered in Unit 2, prepare a “mini” qualitative research proposal. This proposal should essentially be an expansion of your research design focus from the last few weeks converted into a narrative format. For this course, the research design and methodology should be qualitative in nature. (There is a separate course dedicated to quantitative research in the program).
The Unit 4 course materials include three additional documents that will help with this assignment. First, the “Dissertation Outline” contains all the sections (and subsections) required in a DBA dissertation. The first three “chapters” in the outline form the dissertation “proposal” and serve as the foundational research document that must be approved by the committee prior to gathering data, conducting research and completing the dissertation (chapter 5). This course assignment is a foundational exercise for designing a research study that will help once you enter the dissertation phase later in the program. The second document in the Unit 4 readings is the “DBA Dissertation Template” and will help you with the correct layout and formatting for a research proposal. The DBA dissertation rubric will provide a “map” and checklist for the content that need to be included in each of the sections.
For this assignment your “mini-proposal” should include a condensed version of the following elements from the dissertation outline document; see below (overviews only).
