Choose at least four pieces we have read so far and discuss how the protagonists have had their eyes opened by the circumstances they are in. Use both primary and secondary sources in this essay.

Essay purpose/audience:
This is an argument essay for an academic audience in which you will make a claim and support it with evidence gathered from both the primary and secondary sources. You will analyze and contextualize the evidence as you build your argument.
Essay parameters:
Incorporate one quotation from each of four different primary sources and/or their secondary sources into your 3-4 page essay. You should have at least 5 quotes in your essay.
Do not merely summarize the source; make sure that you are making a point about the story!
Make sure that each of your quotes is properly cited (parenthetical citation).
Use MLA format for headings and citations. For further information, refer to our class discussion.
Provide a Works Cited page at the end of the document (this page is paginated but DOES NOT count towards your page totalJ). This list should include both the primary and secondary sources.
