According to Bettelheim and your textbook, discuss the benefits of pretend play and/or play with imaginary friends.

Based on Bettelheim’s views, research (go to the store, talk to parents, check reviews, etc.) and identify a “good” toy and a “bad” toy. These toys should be for an elementary-aged child and should cost $25 or less.
Discuss price (value), provide a picture of the toys you selected, and discuss why you think these toys are good and bad based on Bettelheim’s views.
As you develop your answers, you should be mindful of Bettelheim’s work and of the material in your textbook. Do not use emotion, opinion, or your own experiences to support your argument. Some of these topics are controversial, and much is written about them in the media. While your personal position may differ from that noted by the textbook and/or Bettelheim, your focus should be on the course material.
The word count minimum for this assignment is 650 words; however, your grade will reflect the level of detail, analysis, and intricacy involved in your answer.
Use at least one scholarly source in addition to your textbook and the Bettleheim article to craft your response. Please be mindful to cite your source material throughout your argument using APA formatting. Doing so provides the reader with a trail that shows where you found the support for which your argument is based and thus provides credibility.
It is also important to demonstrate academic integrity by writing your summary in your own words and following correct APA 7th edition citation protocol guidelines for in-text citations and the creation of your references page.
This assignment will be divided into units 3 and 4. For unit 3, you will write a rough draft and submit it by the deadline for a peer review.
The peer review process will allow you to receive feedback on your work and allow you to provide feedback to others on their work.
In unit 4, you incorporate the feedback you receive from your peer reviewer into your final version of the written assignment and upload it for review by the instructor.
